Maneki Chou Chou Plushie, Lavender Hinoki | HYSSES Singapore | Aromatherapy – Hysses Official
Benefits
The Chou Chou Story

Imagine a comfort object from childhood — something soft and worn that you held close, that smelled like safety. In Singapore, this is called a Chou Chou (臭臭, pronounced "chow chow"), a tradition passed down through generations. Singaporean mothers would fill soft pillows and cloths with natural buckwheat husk, a gentle, grounding material that provided security and warmth.

The name itself is affectionate slang meaning "smelly," because children treasured the familiar personal scent of their beloved objects. That emotional connection to scent and comfort never truly leaves us.

Hysses has reimagined this heritage for today. Inside each Maneki Chou Chou is a buckwheat husk sachet infused with pure essential oils. You're not buying a novelty plushie. You're reclaiming a ritual that once comforted you, elevated with genuine aromatherapy. One to keep, refresh, and return to again and again.
