CITRONELLA IN SKIN CARE

Insect repellent:Well-known for its effectiveness in repelling mosquitoes, Citronella is a natural alternative to chemical-based insect-repellents whose toxicity extends to humans. It does so by masking the scent of carbon dioxide and lactic acid, which are smells that are attractive to mosquitoes, present in humans.

Neutralises odours: Citronella’s strong, fresh fragrance is ideal for masking unwanted environmental and body odours, making it a common ingredient in deodorants. Its lively aroma is energising and uplifting, adding to its appeal as a fragrance product.

    • How to use for face care
Add one drop of essential oil to one dollop of your face cream or lotion and apply every two days. Do not be tempted to add more oil. Higher doses do not work better than regular applications.
    • How to use for body care
Use no more than 4 to 5 drops of citronella essential oil for every 5ml of body lotion or carrier oil. Apply the mixture all over skin and pat dry or allow full absorption. Read more about essential oil dilution and how much you should mix.

CITRONELLA IN HAIR CARE

Oil Control: Citronella can balance the oil production by moderating sebum secretion in the scalp glands, making it suitable for use with dry or oily hair.

Shine and Bounce: Citronella is also effective at removing residual oil and the dirt that it holds on to; the result is to reveal shiny hair with bounce.
