Add Natural Lemongrass Scent to Laundry to Deter Aedes Mosquitoes

With the gradual increase in dengue cases in Singapore, regular mosquito repellents may not be enough to protect us.

Did you know that Aedes mosquitoes absolutely HATES the scent of lemongrass? The aroma messes with their sense of direction, which makes it an amazing deterrent.

You can either get a mosquito repellent that contains lemongrass, or better yet, include lemongrass in your laundry so you don't have to reapply every few hours. The scent will stick to your clothes longer than repellents do. No, I'm not saying you should add real lemongrass in your washing machine. But you should totally invest in a lemongrass essential oil.

EXPERIMENT WITH BLENDS

If you think lemongrass have a strong aroma, you can opt for a blend of essential oils that contains high amounts of lemongrass. Since the blend is a mixture of other essential oils, you can easily pick any of your favourite scent to mask a little bit of the strong lemongrass aroma.

  • 2 drops of Lavender
